Increasing the fabric stash, again...

Image
Last week was rather expensive, as it included a trip to Fabrics Galore on Lavender Hill in London and later in the week to the massive Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham. Both places provided lots and lots of tempting fabrics, notions and books!  Below is some of my "loot", including some lovely Liberty fabrics!!

So many quilts to look at and so many stalls to visit, all selling fantastic fabric, haberdashery, notions, etc that I didn't know I needed until I saw it... This post has some of the quilts that caught my eyes, although only carrying my mobile phone (to avoid the heavy camera bag!), the quality of the photos are so-so; apologies in advance! One from the Winners' wall. Fantastic detail! This one was on the winners' wall and by far the most popular; this being one of eight panels of the quilt I believe this one was 2nd place in the Art category. I love the colours Part of a much larger quilt, sporting 'postcards' Interesting mixture of techniques! Love the detail of this one, almost looks like a  paining! Love the placement of the blocks in this one! Amazing!!! Every feature is made out of fabric, no painting! Tiny, tiny hexagons, LOTS of them. This is just a small part of the quilt... The first of my three projects for the book "101 things to do with xxx" edited by Momtaz Begum-Hossain has been completed! As it involves blue, red and white it has been great making it during the Olympics period; all very patriotic (if I had been British, that is...)! More to be revealed in a years time when the book is released!
