Hat, scarf and trousers

Some more clothes made from the vehicle fabric; fleece hat with tassel and triangular fleece scarf. And a pair of corduroy trousers with a tiny lion applique. Super simple style, with elasticated waist.

Hexies

Image
Hand sewing is not usually my favourite activity, but luckily we are many contributing to the new funeral pall.... Here are some of "my" hexies:

Typical

Don't you just love it when you have cut out your fabric, and as you are on all fours on the floor, along comes the littlest one, who you didn't know could crawl, does a cough and produces some "extra stuff" all over the pre-washed, ironed and cut out fabric pieces? No, I don't either. Aaarrggghhhh! But, great that she now crawls; or perhaps not, as child-proofing of the home must be stepped up, again.

Donations delivered

Yesterday I dropped off the first set of items for the Christmas fair. Some of these are old things I have had in my cupboards for some time, others are newly made specially for the Christmas fair. A baby hat with fleece lining: Scarves or dribble bibs: Bag with waterproof lining:  Small odds and sods bag with gingham lining:  Crinkly square toy, great for little ones! Fleece hats, one with monkeys, the other one with helicopters and airplanes: Two Sweden inspired fleece hats in yellow and blue: Three fleece hats with vehicles and coloured fleece: Pencil roll: Fingers crossed that the items can attract buyers and thus help the Church raise money for their activities!

Preparing for charity

Image
In the middle of November (17th, 19th and 20th) the Swedish Church in London is having their annual Christmas fete, where many expat Swedes (and some others) stock up on all things Swedish.  This year the "syjunta" (sewing club) is going to have their own table and all the ladies (and I, as a new member) are trying to make things that will attract buyers. Two themes have been identified; the obvious one is CHRISTMAS, and the other one being CHILDREN. At the moment my inspiration has mainly been to sew things for children; it just doesn't seem right to take out Christmas fabric when the sun is shining and one is walking around in shorts! So far I have some fleece hats, scarves, small bags, pencil rolls and car rolls in mind for the fete, but I am not sure if these will sell.

Five years wedding anniversary

Image
It is FIVE years since we got married today! As I didn't have a crafting blog back then, here are some of the photos of my wedding dress. I made three different tops for it, and in the end settled for two of them; one for the service and the official photographs, and one for the dinner and parties. Yes, we had two wedding parties and I wore the dress, had the hair done and got the flowers both times... My dress was ready in "good time" before the big day,  which was fortunate, as my husband realised the weekend before the wedding that he couldn't find a waist coat he liked in the shops. Off I went to dig out a pattern, make a mock-up in cheap fabric, get the posh fabrics, and make the proper one and a matching cravat, all in a weekend.

Home made unique badges

Image
You don't need more than special transfer paper from the news agent or the stationary shop, and a computer with PowerPoint (or a fancysmancy design programme if you prefer) to make your own unique badges for t-shirts, bags, onesis, etc. There are plenty of images available for free on the internet or as part of most software programmes.
